Geviert von Silber und Blau mit schwarzem Schildfuß; Feld 1: ein roter Rundkolben; Feld 2: eine strahlende ungebildete goldene Sonne; Feld 3: wachsend fünf goldene Ähren; Feld 4: drei (2:1) rote Seeblätter; im Schildfuß ein schräggekreuztes silbernes Bergmannsgezähe. Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on February 15, 2008. The flask is a symbol for the locally important chemical industry and is taken from the old arms of Wolfen. Th sun is taken from the arms of Thalheim and represents the solar technology and bright future. The wheatears represent the 5 municipalities that merged in 2007 and symbolise the (former) importance of agriculture. The leaves are taken from the old arms of Bitterfeld.
