German

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1930, and showed the complete arms of the Lords of Emerkingen, including helmet, crest and mantling. As in Germany helmets and crests are not allowed for municipal arms, the arms were reduced to only the shield itself in 1957. The meaning of the wall-anchor is not known.
