Origin/meaning
The above arms were granted in 1905 and are based on the oldest known seal of the city, dating from the late 15th century. All later seals show the same a city view. In 1905 a small shield with the arms of the Lords of Homburg was added. They had their castle in the city in the 13th and 14th centuries.
