Origin/meaning
The arms were first granted in 1927 and again on July 21, 1978. The arms are based on the oldest seal of Jüchen, dating from 1299. The arms show the local church as well as the arms of the counts of Jülich, who ruled the area officially since 1330, but in practice much earlier. The moon and star are religious symbols.
