Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 25, 1836.
The oldest seal of the town dates from 1683 and shows already the local patron saint, St. Andrew. In 1836 the arms were officially adopted in the colours of the State of Salzburg, to which the town belonged until 1803.
Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
