Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 17, 2019.

The embattled chief refers to the four (former) motte castles in the municiaplity. The four linden leaves symbolise the villages of Gudow, Segrahn, Kehrsen and Sophiental.

The golden oriole is taken from the arms of the Von Bülow family (see below), lords of the village since 1470. The family still lives in the area.
