German | blazon wanted |

Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 16, 1996.
The bull in the upper half is the symbol of Mecklenburg and was used by the different branches of the Dukes of Mecklenburg. A large part of the district historically belonged to Mecklenburg. The upper half symbolises the two former districts of Güstrow and Teterow, which are symbolised by the two stars.
The lower half shows two crossed crosiers for the Bishops of Schwerin, who ruled the area of the former Bützow district.
