Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 3, 1959.

The upper half shows the Wendelstein mountain which is situated just North of the town. The animal head symbolises the rich wildlife in the area. The lower half shows three diamonds taken from the arms of Bayern and thus are a canting element.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
