Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 3, 1970.
The wavy bend is a canting element, -beck means -bach or river. The green balls are taken from the arms of the District and placed on the side of the shield, to indicate the position of the village on the Dutch border. The colours refer to the nature (Itter=heath) and the sandy soils.
