Origin/meaning

The wavy bar symbolises the Lahn river. The seven trefoils (clover leaves) symbolise the seven former municipalities. The historically important Caldern Abbey is represented by the crosier. The escutcheon with the arms of the Teutonic Order represents the area South of the Lahn, which historically belonged to the Order.
