Origin/meaning

The arms are based on the newest seals of the city and show a canting swallow (Schwalbe) above the rose of Lippe. The oldest seals of the city showed a city with in the gate a 8-pointed star, taken from the arms of the Counts of Sternberg, who at the time ruled the area.

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
