OERLIKON

Canton : Zürich
Incorporated into : 1934 Zürich

Wappen von Oerlikon/Arms (crest) of Oerlikon

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 8, 1931.

The arms first appeared on the seal of the village, designed in 1855. The meaning of the symbols is not clear, although the plough-iron and colours probably are derived from the arms of Schwamendingen, to which the village belonged until 1872.
