LEEFDAAL
Province : Vlaams-Brabant
Incorporated into : 1977 Bertem
Official blazon
Van goud met een vijfblad van keel geknopt van azuur.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 5, 1954.
The arms are those of the important medieval family Van Leefdaal, who used 3 roses or three cuinquefoils in their arms. The seals of the local council from 1275, 1344, 1393 and the 16th century, however, only showed a single rose or other flower, never the three flowers. Therefore, the arms with one flower were granted in 1954.
