State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Gross-Gerau
Incorporated into : 1977 Mörfelden-Walldorf
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The oldest known seal of the town, known since 1612, but dating from the 16th century, already shows the oak and horseshoe. The horseshoe is the older village symbol. The oak is a symbol for the Imperial Forest of Dreieich (three-oaks) to which the village historically belonged. The arms have been used since 1900, but were formally granted in 1926.
