History: Formed at Leuchars on December 15, 1950.
Official blazon
Badge: Asword argent hilted gules the point uppermost and a torch gules enflamed gules/Or in saltire.
Motto: Discendo duces = By learing you will lead.
Origin/meaning
The Torch symbolises training and the Sword symbolises the Combat Operations for which the Unit trains its pupils. The badge was granted in October 1952.
