History: Formed on April 1, 1939.
Official blazon
Alighting upon two claymores argent hilted gules in saltire a snowy owl proper affronty wings expanded and inverted.
Motto: Thoir an aire = To be watchful.
Origin/meaning
The Snowy Owl is only found in Scotland har eyes able to see in light 100 times less than man. It thus alludes to the Airborne Early Waring Role of No 8 Squadron, which was based here. The Claymores further alludes to the Scottish location of the Station. The badge was granted in May 1974.
