Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 6, 1964.
The arms are taken from the arms of the Lords of Diest, who acquired the village in 1400. Even after the village had been acquired by other families, the local council used the Diest arms on its seal. It thus was a logical choice for the municipal arms.
