CHAMPFRÉMONT
Département : Mayenne
French | D'azur au rencontre de bélier d'or, sommé de deux jets d'eau symétriques d'argent et accompagné de trois molettes d'or. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in July 2001.
The blue field indicates the Passoir brook which crosses the municipal territory, but also refers to the colors of the old province of Maine to which Champfrémont is attached.
The head of a ram from which springs a spring symbolizes the miracle of Saint Anne. According to this story, it was a ram who indicated the location of a spring, a short distance from the small chapel dedicated to the saint.
The spur wheels are taken from the arms of the Lord of the Broise who owned Champfrémont for many years. The two oak branches refer to the Multonne forest, which is partly on the municipal territory.
