English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on November 16, 2017.
The helmet evokes Gircourt, formerly Girecurian, which is according to certain authors derived from "the domain of Gerin", and symbolises protection.
The mill iron refers to the former mill in Ajon. The mitre refers to St. Martin Bishop of Tours, the patron saint of village.
The sheaf emphasizes the agricultural character of the village whose many orchards are represented by the Mirabelle plums.
