Origin/meaning

The trees appeared for the first time on the seal of 1734. A later 18th century seal showed the local patron saint, St. Bartholomew. In 1918 the arms were adopted, combining the two symbols. From the 1950s until 1991 the saint was removed, as can be seen in the arms below.
