LENSAHN
State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Ostholstein (until 1970 Oldenburg in Holstein)
Amt : Amt Lensahn
German | Geteilt und halb gespalten. Oben in Blau ein goldenes Damwildgeweih auf dem Schädelknochen, unten rechts in Rot eine goldene Ähre, links die beiden Oldenburger Balken rot in Gold. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 13, 1950.
The upper half shows a deer skull and antler, symbol of the many forests and animals in the region. The wheat ear symbolises the importance of agriculture in the municipality. The lower left half shows the red and golden bars of the State of Oldenburg, as the village was part of the Lensahner Hof estate, which was part of the State of Oldenburg until 1928.
