Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 3, 1993.

The acorn-tipped cross refers to the local patron saint, St. Anthony. The two symbols (I have no meaning) refer to the local cattle breeding, whereas the olive branch refers to the cultivation of olives. The wavy saltire refers to the Almonda river.
