  • (de) Von Schwarz und rot geviert; in 1 und 4 ein goldenes Kleeblatt­ kreuz; in 2 und 3 ein rückschauendes silbernes Lamm.

Origin/meaning

The arms are quartered and show in I and IV a cross. This cross is known as the cross of St. Ulrich, the patron saint of the diocese, and was part of the arms of the wo large abbeys in Augsburg, St. Ulrich and St. Afra. The two other fields show the Agnus Dei as a generic Christian symbol.
