OBERWEILER
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm (until 1970 Bitburg)
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Bitburger Land (until 2014 Verbandsgemeinde Bitburg-Land)
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 7, 1992.
Oberweiler was in the Middle Ages a separate estate, which was ruled by the Lords of Heisgen. They used arms with five fleur-de-lis. The three fleur-de-lis in the chief are derived from these arms.
The lower part symbolises the patron saint, St. Hubert, whose symbol is a deer with a cross between the antlers.
