Official blazon

Argent three dexter hands couped Gules in chief and in base three salmon in fret Vert.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1948.

The three hands are taken from the arms of a Matheson in the David Lindsay Armorial (1542 onwards). The three fish are taken from the arms of the Diocese of Aberdeen.
