Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 15, 1994.
The wavy bar in the chief refers to the Truse river, after which the municipality is named. The six waves refer to the six settlements in the municipality.
The miner's tools and the knife-blades refer to the importance of mining and manufacturing in the municipality. The golden cross is the initial of Trusetal. The green colour refes to the nature and the Thüringer Wald region.
