Origin/meaning

The arms were designed and proposed already in 1901 by the State Archives, but adopted by the municipality only in 1956.

The arms show a raven, taken from the old seal of the village (known since 1740). The raven is derived from the arms of the Lords of Helmstatt, who ruled the village in the 19^th century.
