PLECH

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Bayreuth (until 1974 Pegnitz)
Additions : 1972 Ottenhof

Wappen von Plech/Arms (crest) of Plech
Official blazon
German In Rot ein doppelschwänziger silberner Löwe, in der Mitte überdeckt mit einem goldenen Balken.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms already appear on the oldest known seal of the town, which dates from the 15th century. All later seals show the same composition.

The lion is most likely the lion of Bohemia, as the town was ruled by the Kings of Bohemia until 1402. The bar is likely an element added to distinguish the arms from the arms of Bohemia.
