Sinisessä kentässä hopeinen, raakapurjeella ja peräsimellä varustettu vene ja sen alapuolella liekkikoroinen kultatyviö.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 27, 1957.
The sailing ship is taken from the old parish seal and refers to the (former) importance of sailing and shipping for the municipality. The base shows flames, as the Lappajärvi lake is geologically an old volcanic crater.
