Glues; a bend wavy argent upon which a like bendlet azure, and over all a lion rampant or, armed and langued of the third, charged on the the shoulder with a hurt upon which a representation of a compass rose oof eight points argent, the vertical and horizontal pointers extending beyond the perimiter of the hurt / De gueules á la bande ondée d'argent sur laguelle unde bendelette sembiable d'azur et brochant sur le tout un lion d.or armé et lampassé du troisième, heurté à l'épaule d'une rose des vents à huit pointes d'argent, les fléches verticales et horizontales dépassant la blessure.

Origin/meaning

The Mackenzie River was discovered and explored by Sir Alexander Mackenzie. The Lion symbolises his Scottish Roots, the Compass Rose symbolises his feats in Geography, Travel and Exploration.
