Origin/meaning

The arms were granted or adopted in 1828 but no formal record exists, so the arms most likely were never officially granted.

The arms show a canting bell. The chief shows the arms of the Netherlands, as in 1828 Belgium was still part of the Netherlands. This was never removed.
