Origin/meaning
The Black field represents the secrecy of communications and the zeal of the Transmission staff, as well as the permanent character of service. The griffin alludes to the ability to adapt to different types of missions and circumstances. The rest of the composition is a reference to the heroic deeds of the warrior-messenger Pheidippides who announced in Athens the victory over the Persians in the famous battle of Marathon. The Coat of Arms was approved on 18 July 2012.
