HMCS RESTIGOUCHE, ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY

Coat of arms (crest) of the HMCS Restigouche, Royal Canadian Navy

Official blazon

Or, the head of a five-pronged fish spear erect, azure. / D'or, à tête de harpon à cinq pointes dressées d'azur.
Motto: Rester droit

Origin/meaning

The gold field is from the field in the arms of New Brunswick, through which province the Restigouche River flows. The five-points of the Fish Spear is a reference to the five tributaries of the River. It also alludes to Anti-Submarine role of the Ship. The Motto translates as "Steer a straight course".
