GUTMADINGEN
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Tuttlingen (until 1972 Donaueschingen)
Incorporated into : 1972 Geisingen
German | In Blau mit blau-silbernem Wolkenbord drei (2:1) goldene Räder. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted after a proposal from the Historical Committee of the State of Baden in 1903.
The wheels are taken from the arms of the Knights Von Guotmadingen, mentioned in the 12th and 13th centuries. In the late 13th century the village became a possession of the Counts of Wartenberg and in 1318 of the Counts of Fürstenberg. The latter used in their arms the typical blue-silver wavy bordure, which is combined with the wheels in the arms of the municipality.
