Origin/meaning
As common in US episcopal heraldry, the arms show the arms of the diocese impaled with the personal arms of the bishop.
Blue and gold are from the arms of pope John Paul II who appointed Galeone a bishop. Red-silver-blue are the colors of the Archdiocese of Baltimore where Galoene spent his years of priestly ministry.
The blue horn with seven fire-tongues representing the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Thus Galeones arms symbolize the Fruit of the Holy Spirit.
The motto comes from Galateans 5:22.
The achievement is completed with the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of bishop by instruction of the Holy See, of March 1969, confirmed in March 2001.
