Origin/meaning
The arms were derived from the arms of the former Amt Stotel.
The arms are a combination of the keys of the Archdiocese of Bremen, the helmet is taken from the crest of the Counts of Stotel. The latter originated in the village, whereas the whole area belonged historically to the archdiocese of Bremen.
