Escudo de prata, faixa azul carregada de barco, com seu remo, tudo de ouro, realçado de negro, acompanhado em chefe por um castelo de vermelho entre duas flores de cinco pétalas de púrpura, botonadas de ouro e em ponta de crescente de verde. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas : “ MÉRTOLA “.

The arms were officially granted on June 8, 1996.
