Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1948 for the Borough (köping) of Hallstahammar and officially registered in 1986.
The hammer is a symbol for the copper factory Hallsta kopparhammare, which was set up in 1638 and has given the municipality its name. The cogwheels symbolise the modern industry.
