Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on January 23, 1987.
The arms show a typical headdress or crown used by the medieval Norwegian Dukes. The crown was used as a symbol for Rissa, as Duke Skule Bårdsson established a big convent and accompanying garden and estate Rein in the municiaplity.
