The previous arms of the city were designed and granted on January 22, 1796.
In 1857 B. Kene designed new arms for the city, with the same symbolism, but now with the provincial arms of Volynska province in the first quarter. The arms were not adopted.
During Soviet times the city adopted new arms on March 27, 1969, see below.
