Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on January 31, 1994.
The lands in today's St. Ruprecht were property of the Archbishopric of Salzburg from about 860 on. One of the patron saints of the archdiocese, St. Rupert and St. Virgil, is also the patron saint of St. Ruprecht (Ruprecht is a slightly different form of Rupert).
The village was elevated to the status of borough in 1462. St. Ruprecht has used seals charged with a church for centuries. So have other municipalities. In 1994, in the formal grant, a Salzfaß (ton for the transport of salt) was added for difference. The Salzfaß is an attribute of St. Rupert.
