Official blazon

In Silber ein goldener Ring, überdeckt mit einer blauen Wellendeichsel, bewinkelt von drei goldbesamten, fünfblättrigen Rosen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 14, 1975 and replaced the arms below (which were not granted, but historically used):

Springe2.jpg

Springe received city rights in 1300 from the Counts of Hallermund, who made the new city their capital. The oldest seal dates from the early 14th century and shows already the same elements as the above arms. The three roses are derived from the arms of the Counts of Hallermund; the waves are a canting element for the springs in the area, that form the Haller river. The meaning of the ring, however, is not known.
