Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 24, 1988.

The cinquefoil means 'dear daughter' and alludes to Clementina, daughter of João Francisco Vasques, founder of the settlement. The bees are the symbol of labour and the Paschal Lamb is the symbol of the patron saint, St. John Baptist. The wavy bar represents the rivers Promisor and Lontra. The chequered base stands for the division of the land in many small plots.

The shield is surrounded by coffee and sugar cane branches, the main agricultural crops in the area.
