EXTERTAL

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Lippe (until 1972 Lemgo)
Additions : 1969 Almena, Asmissen, Bösingfeld, Bremke, Göstrup, Kükenbruch, Laßbruch, Meierberg, Nalhof, Rott, Schönhagen, Silixen

Wappen von Extertal

Official blazon

Von Silber und Grün schrägrechts geteilt, oben mit einem roten achtstrahligen Stern, unten mit einem goldenen Wellenschrägbalken belegt.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1970 and show in the upper left corner the arms of the Counts of Sternberg. These ruled the area for many centuries from their castle Sternberg in the municipality. The lower part shows the Exter river and thus is a canting element.
