Mustassa kentässä aaltokoroinen hopeahirsi, jossa punainen vitsahankain.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on October 3, 1957.
The arms show an oar-lock (a lock to hold an oar in place), which is a canting element (hankain). The wavy bar is canting for the salmi (strait) part of the name.
