Official blazon
Azure, upon a sea in base undy Argent and of the First semée of fish Sable and Or respectively, a lymphad of the Second, her jib set and mainsail furled, within her four rowers with oars in action, and seated in the stern an Earl robed and coroneted all
Proper, for figurehead a demi-lion rampant Gules, and at the masthead a pennon of the Last charged of Scotland (viz.: Azure, a Saint Andrew's cross Argent) in the hoist; in the sinister chief is set the sun in his splendour Or.
Above the Shield is placed a coronet suitable to a Burgh Royal and in an Escrol under the same this Motto "Victoriae Gloria Merces".

The arms are based on the old Burgh arms.
