HAMILTON (City)

Arms (crest) of Hamilton (city, Bermuda)

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

Hamilton is named after James, 2nd Marquess of Hamilton (1589-1625). The cinquefoils are taken from his personal arms. The ship and supporters indicate the importance of the city as a harbour town and the importance of the sea in general.
