EL PLA DE SANTA MARIA
Region : Catalonia
Province : Tarragona
Official blazon
Escut caironat: d'atzur, una muralla entre 2 torres obertes d'argent somades d'una creu llatina d'or. Per timbre una corona mural de vila.
Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 5th September 1995.
The towered wall with two crosses is a traditional sign of the arms of El Pla de Santa Maria, the wall probably alluding to the town, and the crosses to its two churches, Sant Ramon (13th century) and Santa Maria (18th century).
