SILS
Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona
Official blazon
Escut caironat truncat: 1r. d'atzur, un estany d'argent i de sinople; 2n. d'or, una cabra de sable i la bordura de 8 peces de sable. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.
Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 25th March 1994.
The arms show the former pond of Sils, drained off in mid 19th century, and the canting arms of Cabrera (with the goat, "cabra" in Catalan), because the village belonged to Riudarenes council, in the viscounty of Cabrera.
