Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms of the town (German Neusalz an der Oder), were granted on October 8, 1743 by King Friedrich II of Prussia and show in the upper half the Prussian egale, and in the lower half a small ship. The ship symbolises the shipping on the Oder river.
